Caroline is passionate about addressing the justice gap. She became a Barrister to see justice available for all. Prior to becoming a Barrister she used to work as a partner at ABMM, leading their dispute resolution practice. Caroline then set up Legal Plus, a social enterprise which aimed to assist people in a wholistic way. Before that she practiced in criminal defence and general civil law. She served on the New Zealand Law Society, Te Kahui Ture O Aotearoa Boad as the Central North Island Vice President for two years from April 2022 to April 2024. Caroline holds an appointment as a Visiting Justice within prisons. Caroline set up Huatoki Chambers with other Barristers in August 2024.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT
Te Hira is very proud to be Māori and of Celtic descent.
Te Hira has a strong pull towards justice, support, and guidance, for standing beside those as they find and use their own voice. Ia has a passion for the environment.
Ia worked within the realm of caring for animals, as a goat farmer & caretaker of the pound for New Plymouth District Council. Te Hira has also worked in data entry and occasional environmental monitoring mahi for Te Whenua Tōmaru Trust and, most recently, kaitautoko advocate/support worker within the community.
Ia took a leap of faith leaving their old job, not knowing what the future held, to be caught and guided in this new role as personal assistant.
Te Hira is enjoying the new challenge and the mahi, in particular ia is passionate about ensuring that the mahi is delivered in line with the principle’s Caroline follows in ensuring access to justice.
